I exercised, I thought about so many things, and I realized that this election has freed me. It has freed me from the illusion of the United States is a progressive nation; it isn’t. It has freed me from the illusion that women want to be liberated; clearly not enough of them did. it has freed me from the illusion that the United States is advanced enough to elect a woman president. It’s really not. It has freed me from the illusion that people are willing to fight for their rights. They’re perfectly willing to give their rights over to billionaires; Citizens United insured that. And how aptly named that was; it’s right up there with “war is peace“. And when Trump said “I love the uneducated“ he was proving how right “ignorance is strength“ is. So suddenly, my addiction to “News” has been broken. I have now realized that writing the news is much more amusing than reading them. In fact, writing is much more amusing, much more interesting, and much more rewarding than reading someone else’s drivel, especially the news organizations, which are more interested in making a buck than in trying to steer the nation towards a sustainable future. The realization that if a 100 IQ is average, 50% of the people are below that, and we have to learn to live with it, is sobering. The Bible says “do not throw pearls before swine, or give precious things to dogs“ and it’s probably one of the truest things that the Bible says. And the Bible itself, based on a so-called God that typifies himself as “jealous“ and “angry“, is the perfect religious book for the United States. Please remember that the God of the Bible is overwhelmingly male; in the Bible, women are meant to serve. The Catholic Church, the chosen faith of President Biden, doesn’t have a single female anywhere near the top of the hierarchy, and this is typical of Abrahamic faith, which encompasses Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. Oh, I am having fun; I hate to remind people of reality, but it seems that it’s time to do this. and I have no interest in returning to the struggle; “once more into the breach, dear friends,“ I will leave to subsequent generations, who will have to deal with the reality that this administration is run by billionaires who don’t care about the environment, or about peoples’ rights, as long as they get their last buck out of it. You may call me cynical; I call myself realistic. In the harsh, unforgiving light of day, the reality of life in the United States, so different from truly progressive countries, becomes brutally apparent. Oh, certainly, there will still be pockets of civilization; California is mostly civilized, and I thank God that despite the steep price one pays for living here it’s still better than Louisiana, where climate denial reigns at the same time as the state is being eaten by the rising ocean, and gun crime is considered “just a way of life.” Now, we can move onto Thanksgiving, a celebration of how we, the so-called “White“ people gave thanks for expropriating the entire continent from its native population, and Christmas, another wonderful celebration of the birth of a male prophet. Have a nice day.
