The blue collar vote [1]

There is a major question being discussed within the democratic party of why we lost the blue collar vote.

Lot of opinions ,theories and explanations, inflation, “elitism”, “covid” whatever….

My opinion is that it’s more basic than the above:

77 per cent of the US blue collar “work force ‘ is white.

A high percentage of that group are men with very basic education.

They tend to be bigoted and racist .

We used to have their vote.

What has changed?

The diversity of democratic politicians within the congress.

This is threatening to them.

2008 was an exception.

The economic recession and its consequences on their livelihood scared them. Enough to vote for a very politically savvy African American male president.

Only another 1929 will bring them back into our fold.

And that will happen sooner or later.
