Ahead of the storm, the vulnerable need us [1]

I fear that one of the many devastating outcomes of the election will be to some of the most vulnerable people in our country. I think back to a conversation I had with the wife of one my friends. She, out of the blue, said that if any of her children were gay she would kick them out of the house. I was so stunned I could not speak, and I regret my silence to this day. Her attitude is unfortunately shared by many parents who have done exactly what she said. The result has been a heartbreaking high rate of homelessness, suicide, and depression to a group of beautiful people who have done nothing wrong. That’s when I decided to support the Trevor Project. https://www.thetrevorproject.org/

The assault on women’s bodily autonomy will continue unabated. That is why I support Planned Parenthood. https://www.plannedparenthood.org/

I don’t presume to think the small amount I chip in will make a difference. I am not a preacher or a fund-raiser, but I feel that I must do something to help the innocent people who are victims of this continued cruelty.

I am sure there are other deserving groups that bring genuine help to people in need, and I hope you will leave your suggestions in the comments.
