[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-11-06 So, I noticed that both Elissa Slotkin (D-MI) and Tammy Baldwin (D-WI) won their elections in crucial swing states. These two women ran on very similar platforms to Kamala Harris. Yet, when actual voters went to cast their ballot they voted for these senators but not for Harris. Or maybe they voted for Democratic Senators and then Trump for President. Really, that’s a thing? I’d love to hear from folks why they think that voters who bothered to vote blue and elect (or re-elect) these women to the Senate would not also vote for Harris or would vote for Trump. The discrepancy can’t simply be explained by protest votes about Gaza. Or can it? I’m not thinking so. This also isn’t a matter of the supposed disappearing voters who just didn’t bother to turn out despite the on the ground reports and news articles about the incredible enthusiasm among women voters and the GOTV registration drives which were phenomenal. But poof...all of that simply disappeared somehow. Thoughts? Explanations, please.
