[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-11-05 Did you know that you can vote for president even if you are out of state and not getting an absentee ballot? I just finished a session of poll watching in Oregon. The county clerk commented that there are a lot of people coming in to vote ‘presidential ballots’. When we asked about it, she explained that a person who is not able to vote in their home state can request one of these ballots and vote only in the presidential race. You have to answer a series of questions and show identification. The ballot is treated in a similar way to a provisional ballot and counts in your home state. I did a quick google search and found nothing about it, but I assume she knows what she is talking about. I will keep looking and update if I find verification of this. Someone has mentioned it in the media somewhere, since there are suddenly a number of folks asking for these ballots in my small city. So if you find yourself in the wrong state and want to vote for president, you might have time to get this done.
