Election 2024 Open Thread [1]

OK, everyone is nervous. Post your insecurities here.

Harris is overperforming Trump in Wake County, NC (Raleigh), but Trump is leading the state so far.

PA, MI, WI still to develop enough to call.

Tall everyone what’s on your mind.

6:20 PM PST So far the election looks a lot like 2020. At least one GA county has flipped to Trump. Still a lot of votes to count. Trump is underperforming in Fulton County GA by 0.3% so far. Not much, but in a state that went to Biden by 11,000 or so votes in 2020, could be significant.

6:25 PM PST MSNBC reports multiple FAKE bomb threats at polling places in PA, MI, WI, AZ. FBI thinks they are from Russian sources.

6:30 PM PST — Harris doing almost as well as Biden in Lackawanna County, PA (Scranton). Up 55-45 in Erie County PA over Trump.

CNN reports that, so far, Total votes are Trump ~33 million, Harris ~29 million. Not surprising given that red states in the South are getting counted earlier than blue states in the NE and West.

6:45 PM PST For everyone’s information, I’m watching MSNBC’s election coverage, in particular Steve Kornacki — that’s where most of these results are coming from. I’ll include a source in future posts.

6:49 PM PST Harris up in MI 52-46 (MSNBC)

6:54 PM PST MSNBC now saying Harris 50.4-48.7 in PA. PA with 37% in. Tighter than I would like.

6:57 PM PST I just want to say for the record that I’m super impressed with Kamala Harris — she came in late and ran a damn-near perfect campaign. She left it all out on the field. Whatever happens she’s demonstrated her worth, and that she would make a damn good President.

7:00 PM PST Per MSNBC, MI, WI, PA, NV, NC still to close to call. Per CNN, vote totals are about 39.2 million for Trump, 34.8 million for Harris (www.cnn.com/...)

7:08 PM PST OK, anxiety alert — How the F-ckity-F-ck is it this close when one candidate is an insurrectionist business fraud adjudicated sex offender dementia patient fascist? It’s a cheap way out to say that half our country is insane, but in truth there are heavily-moneyed business and religious interests making them insane. This kind of disconnect from reality doesn’t happen by accident.

7:25 PM PST OK, MSNBC calls Alsobrooks as winner in Maryland...and Ted Cruz in Texas. Allred ran a good campaign, but Republicans in Texas are some of the worst people in the country.
