No pun intended. Nothing’s embarrassing for a malignant narcissist What candidate for any office wants to be seen driving a garbage truck with their name sprawled across it? If you have ever wondered, Trump has answered that question. That was after his Madison Square Garden rally showed that Trump is a wannabe Nazi but could only be a fascist because he’s too stupid. (Yes, he fails at Nazism, too). People talk about the satire of the ’90s being predictive of events we’ve experienced, like The Simpsons' prediction that Donald Trump would be president, which was considered cutting-edge comedy in 2000. Yet, Trump’s recent actions have transcended any satire a human could write. Only God’s imagination could come up with Trump’s truck skit. This is comedy platinum, no comedy mithril. Imagine a ’90s sitcom about a Trump character. They’d show his trash truck photo-op (and his bumbling effort to get in the truck) as part of the ad spot. Yet, another skit The pitch: How about having the Trump character stumble through a town hall until he tells his aides to play random music, and they start with Mozart’s Requiem [Not exactly as it happened, but this is funnier than Ava Maria]. Then, he sways, wobbles, and wigwags off-rhythm for forty minutes, oblivious to his campaign swirling down the drain. Meanwhile, a Kristi Noem dog-killing character has to grin and pretend all is normal while feeling a dagger eviscerate her political career. When he sings along, the press reports, “Trump Spells YMCA Correctly! Refuting Doubts about His Cognitive Skills.” This episode is a sequel to a previous one, “Person, Man, Woman, Camera, TV.” A review will say, “Donald Trump’s straight-face, rasping voice, and dry delivery challenges Leslie Nielsen’s comedy genius.” When Trump brags about this, a staffer points out that Nielsen isn’t just deadpan but dead, then stops him as he tries to shoot himself on Fifth Avenue and reminds the Trump character that a stable genius is better than a comedy genius. His staff can’t tell him he passed the pop cognitive quiz, knowing he’d boast to his followers, “I spelled YMCA better than anyone in the history of the world.” Then he’d weave on with, “Hey, did you know Abraham Lincoln had a beard? Many people don’t know that.” The Trump Fascist dance-off We’ll know we’re living in a ’90s musical-comedy when he challenges Kamala Harris to a dance-off. Of course, she moves much better than Trump (Girl’s Got Hips) so she crushes him worse than in the debate. Trump claims the judges were “very conflicted” Democrats. Is this essay going somewhere? Here’s my halfway serious point: The people in MAGA would’ve laughed at the same material in my hypothetical Trump sitcom and movie. Before Rush, Fox, and Trump turned them into dangerous clowns, they would’ve gotten the joke. But with Rush and Fox opening for him, Trump has a con man’s talent for making people who listen to him dumber than he is. Now that Trump is becoming unminded, the jokes are no longer on him but on his supporters, as they faithfully wear diapers and trash bags. But Trump’s third presidential campaign will only be a joke if he loses. So, if you haven’t voted yet, get out and do it. D. Vance could become president. That’s right; Trump has become the trojan horse to slip JDV by voters. Trump might be gullible, but he’s also erratic. Vance, however, has an ideology that matches the billionaire class, especially the tech bros. He’s now their actual choice. Trump has become a gimmick.
