That kind of deal is appeasement... and it LEADS to war [1]

Trump would make a deal… with Putin, with Kim Jong Un, with Xi Jinping, with authoritarians in general. He claims it will avert war. But the only thing this kind of appeasement achieves is allowing authoritarians to consolidate power, to grow power, until, in fact, the only way to stop them is world war. During WWII, authoritarian sympathizers said we should stay out of it… who cared? Too much money… too much loss of life… none of our business. But they came for us. Because of course they did. We are too strong to leave alone. When they want to be sure their power is fixed, they have to take out the USA. So if he cuts deals with North Korea, with Putin, with China… it will only make them stronger and harder to beat when they come for us. Some of them probably think we should just let the mob run the world, but even then we face war. WW1 was just a bunch of entitled authoritarians battling each other for power that bled down to the rest of us. They are never satisfied. They never choose peace. They can’t be allowed to run things. C’mon America. You broke my heart in 2016, but I see how you were fooled. Now you know better. Do the right thing! Steve Kornacki has this ad about how each presidential election is a family photo… it tugs my heart. All of you are my family (and some of you are literally my family). Don’t do this ugly, hateful thing. Make me proud.
