And I’m not talking about the MAGA dimwits who clearly live in a totally alternate Fox News-generated reality than the decent citizens of America. I’m talking about the imbeciles in the middle, whether they are young people who live most of their lives on TikTok, or monster truck fans who just don’t do a lot of thinking about anything. For Trump to have a legitimate chance to win the most prestigious and important job on the planet (and shockingly he does have a legitimate chance), there simply must be a lot of fools in this country who are willing to think out loud, “Mmmm, he seems cool, I think I’ll vote for THAT guy.” Now, I don’t think we’re going to appeal to reason with those potential voters, trying to explain the policy implications of voting for an unashamed fascist. Or appeal to their basic decency either. I don’t think they care about that. No, these folks are going to be more motivated to make the right decision if they see something like Trump getting hit in the groin with a football, or puking on himself. You know, something STUPID. So I had this idea a few weeks ago. I’ve been as frustrated as anyone at the way the justice system in this country has let Trump off the hook over and over. From various DAs and prosecutors taking too long to file indictments for obvious crimes, to (and I still can’t believe this is a real thing in America) the fact that one of the judges presiding over one of his criminal cases WAS GIVEN THE JOB BY TRUMP. So I think we have to come to grips with the reality that if he’s elected president, he’ll never face justice from a court of law for his criminal acts. HOWEVER, if he loses he’s going to be shit out of luck. Let’s just take the stealing national security documents case. I mean, we all saw the pictures. He stole top secret documents, hoarded them at his house, lied about having them, and refused to return them when he was caught. He did it. He clearly did it. If he doesn’t win the election, that case is going to be re-filed in a federal jurisdiction with a non-Trump loving judge, he’s going to lose it, and he’s going to go to jail. Here’s where it gets fun. If Trump loses, he goes to jail. For how long? I’m going to just go with a round number and say 5 years. How many votes will it take for him to lose the election? Let’s say 80 million votes, another basically round number. Now we do some back-of-the-napkin math: Seconds in 5 years: (60 seconds x 60 minutes x 24 hours x 365 days x 5 years) = 157,680,000 Voters needed to make Trump lose and send his ass to jail: ~80,000,000 If you divide his jail sentence (in seconds) by 80 million voters you get: 1.97 seconds (we’ll call it 2) per voter. How great an incentive is that?!? I mean, how often are you going to get a chance to literally send someone to prison by voting, and you can even (roughly) quantify how long you are contributing to his sentence with your vote! Vote for Kamala, send a man to prison for 2 seconds. Now that’s got to be satisfying, not only to people who care about health care and reproductive rights, democracy and America not becoming a dictatorship. I would think that would appeal to the average moron as well. I mean, you can like as many TikToks as you want, but you don’t get to send someone to prison for clicking that button! With this you do. So here’s the sales pitch: “Take 15 minutes out of your day to vote, and steal 2 seconds of Trump’s freedom!” Make it a party! Get 30 of your friends together and go vote, and Trump wears an orange jumpsuit for a full minute. For every 300 Kamala Harris votes, it’s 10 minutes in the slammer for Donnie. Get the word out people, let’s make this happen!
