Fighting 50 in GA challenges Repubs in Rural GA [1]

Hi All, We are the Fighting 50, named after the 50 unopposed Republicans who ran for the state legislature in 2022.

The Fighting Fifty is a group of Democrats running in traditionally uncontested Republican districts in Georgia. Although Georgia is a battleground state, the legislature is dominated by Republicans passing laws that most Georgians oppose.

We believe every race should be contested, so we provide our candidates with the tools, community, and resources needed for strong campaigns. The name reflects the 48 Republican State Representatives who ran unopposed in 2022, limiting Democratic engagement.

OUR MISSION

To recruit, train, and support Democrats running for Georgia State House in traditionally Republican districts.

Candidates in red districts struggle to raise money and gain support, as most resources focus on "flippable seats." We believe in strengthening rural Georgia's political infrastructure, recognizing these races' importance to the Democratic Party's success.
