Lord Of The Flies [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-10-07 LORD OF THE FLIES - Yes. ANOTHER one LOL. This one buzzed Trump in Wisconsin yesterday (Sunday) “I don’t like flies,” Trump said as he tried to shoo it away. “Get out of here, fly. Never been a big fan of flies. You don’t mind my bringing that up, do you? Anyway, this is a very aggressive sucker, this one. This one in particular is very aggressive. Like I’m gonna be aggressive for our country.” So..... I had a cup of coffee this morning and did a little poking around. Turns out Beelzebub is "The Lord Of The Flies". Yup. He is pretty aggressive. A former angel, he became the highest ranking demon, after Lucifer. Some traditions say he made himself known to mankind as the Canaanite god, Ba'al, who required human sacrifice. In Christian tradition Beelzebub personifies the 7 deadly sins, particularly greed. But he also represents pride, lust, envy, gluttony, wrath and sloth. His presence has been associated with odor of the fly's favorite food, excrement, in some European stories. People who attracted flies were accused of being associates of the devil in medieval history. This association with flies was particularly brought up during the Salem Witch Trials here in America. Interesting.
