Friday Night Beer Blog [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-09-27 Hi beer fans, happy Friday! Come in and share a cold one with us! — Here I am with the band last Saturday at the Fieldwork beer garden in San Mateo CA. -— This is my favorite version of a song we do. Ska polka! Our version is more traditional and sung in German and English. — and tonight the beer has its own song: - I’m starting with “Saint Thomas O.G.” from Fieldwork (Berkeley CA). I had a couple glasses of this gratis while playing, paid for the 4-pack to bring home. This is my favorite Fieldwork beer, a West Coast filtered IPA, Mosaic hops, 6.7%abv. Delicious! — The band had a good amount of time to wait after we’d finished setting up, and among other things we talked about beer. One specific topic was that the amber märzen style is marketed as “Oktoberfest” beer, but in fact the Festbier served in the big tents at Oktoberfest is a pale lager, stronger than Helles but still pale. I wasn’t sure about Sierra Nevada’s pale Festbier but obviously they knew what they were doing. Fieldwork’s Festbier is amber and very tasty, you can see in the picture that we each have a glass. What are you drinking? Anyone brewing?
