Not all cartoonists are on our side [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-09-21 So many thank yous to Clay Jones and all the rest who are on the ethical side of history. Palestinian-American Congresswoman Rashida Tlaib, who represents Michigan’s 12th district, was attacked via cartoon by Henry Payne. He seems to appear in both the National Review and Detroit News. If you want to see the cartoon go here. If not, it is a poorly created depiction of the Congresswoman sitting at a desk with a name placard in front of her as well as an exploding devise. She thought bubbles “Odd. My pager just exploded.” My messages to National Review and Payne made it clear that it is not OK to make funny the murder of children, much less a cartoony attack of a member of Congress. The Congresswoman herself Tweeted that this crap makes everyone less safe. In full disclosure I lived/worked in Kuwait and Egypt. Thus I had 100s of Muslim students. They and their family members were not Hamas nor Hezbollah. I could write heaps of stories about my experiences there. But that is for another day.
