Why Does Trump's Cult Keep Trying To Kill Him? And Will They Claim Self Defense? [1]

When you’re a cult leader, especially a fascist cult leader like Donald Trump, the job comes with some pretty large risks. Just look at the number of times Hitler’s own team tried to kill him. Look at how Mussolini ended up. Look at Gaddafi or Saddam Hussein.

But, I see the recent attempts by MAGA’d Trump voters to kill Donald to be more like Jonestown, or rather the alternate timeline version of Jonestown where one of his followers followed through on their discussions to stop the madness by killing Jim Jones. When you’re the leader of a gun crazed cult, it’s normally only ever going to end in one of several ways. Either the cult leader will kill everyone on their way down, some of the trapped cult members will revolt and kill the cult leader, or the entire cult will suicide by cop.

In MAGA’s dog eat dog reality, you never know if the father will entirely devour his children or whether it’ll be vice versa. But you can probably put good money on one or the other.

January 6th was the 3rd option, except (and probably unsurprisingly) the cops had relative mercy on the white wave of human racism in a way they wouldn’t have if they were a Black Lives Matter protest. But I digress. Right now, we’re in a phase where the 2nd possibility is particularly active. I for one very much hope we don’t get to the 1st option, because as bunker Trump takes down the cult who failed to protect his power, he might decide to take the rest of us down with him.

But here on the left, we’ll just have to wait and see. We’re merely spectators in all of this insane gun cult violence that Trump has brought down upon himself. Will one of Trump’s crazy cult members, feeling either betrayed by Trump’s lies or simply eager for fame before they flame out — will they eventually get him? Will he get us all first?

This is our reality now (and Trump’s) until he loses the election and decides to step back into the shrubbery of his Florida man lifestyle — or our society finally decides he no longer belongs on the front pages of our newspapers. Because if not… well, his cult is millions and millions of really really crazy people. They aren’t what you’d call “planners” fortunately (for Trump). But a cult leader’s luck only lasts so long.
