The Space in between Words. [1]

I have heard some musicians/ aestheticians talk about the space between notes, the silence between sound: Where the interstitial magic resides.

Last night in one particular moment toward the end, Kamala directed intent toward Trump and said “ THIS, This, this…”

It tailed off into a moment of silence, a pure fill in the blank moment for the viewer.

The blank moment was filled to the silent brim with the energy that words ride upon when actually spoken.

And if spoken, expletives might have been heard hand in hand with disgust,, derision, disdain and most of all disappointment punctuated with a despair that the country has to negotiate such an angst and trauma inducing moment in our country, 2024.

It was at once angry and sad, as if tears could punch, they would.

It was a moment of greatness, authenticity and high art created from the inside out.

It was Soul.
