Harris will certainly be asked about her changing position on Fracking. She should not answer it based on her “values” but based on a practical “scientific” understanding.

Let’s look at the career of Thomas Midgley Jr. whose name is on everyone’s lips these days. (Apologies for my sarcasm). He was a chemical engineer who boasts numerous awards and 100 patents. However, science is not always treated with rose colored glasses when advances or inventions are assessed. Thomas Midgley Jr. has become most “well known” for playing a major role in developing leaded gasoline and also some of the first chlorofluorocarbons (Freon). Because both of these products were bad for the environment and human health — they were subsequently banned. en.wikipedia.org/.... It is possible, without too much intellectual gymnastics, to be against fracking — after all it involves shattering the ground — and then to realize that in order to reduce the pain of cutting off Russian oil due to their invasion of Ukraine — that fracking could help USA deal with the shortfall.

Or perhaps, as another example of where science would appear to trump values: my values are against bottled water — but I have three gallons of water in plastic bottles in case of an earthquake.

I’m sure Harris will get the Fracking question and I’m sure that Trump will not be asked whether he is “White” or “Aryan”.
