The big orange ape is promising to support Florida’s Recreational Marijuana initiative. But it is pandering with a small “p” as these things are becoming a more of a forgone conclusion. Like the end of prohibition, one by one the states went wet. So, Trump’s support is really no big deal. As a joint would and could offer many of Trump’s supporters a great deal of relief. But the entire Trump campaign has been nothing but pandering. TV ads with brown skin perpetrators and white skin female victims. Scare a vision! I think my favorite is the family appearing to scowl and look sad in front of a house. The background has obviously been darkened to give it more of a tobacco road feel. Friends of J.D.s perhaps? Here comes Santa Claus, here comes Santa Claus, right down Santa Claus Lane. Trump promises no tax on tips for the working stiff. And no taxes on Social Security for Grandpa and Grandma. And then there is the whopper, “we’re going to streamline and modernize and make things more efficient. Get your Resume ready, that’s Capitalist speak for somebody is getting fired. The old we’re going to do more with less routine. Fortunately for us, every word phrase or promise emitting from Trump’s mouth is dead as soon as it leaves his lips. J.D. Vance says Haitian immigrants are eating pets in Ohio. Everything old is new again. I heard the same thing about Vietnamese and Cambodian refugees fifty years ago. The message is clear, these people aren’t like you. They aren’t Americans, like you! They are strange and different and out to ruin this country. The exact same arguments used the by Nazis to persecute the Jews. Trump promises his mass deportations will be bloody. Really? An American politician publicly said that? A statement that smacks of desperation and mental collapse. Living in a fantasy world of absolutes. Der Fuhrer is going to do this, and Der Fuhrer is going to do that. Off with their heads says the Red Queen painted orange. This issue of Trump’s mental decline is in the news, but not in the news the way it should be. It’s not being covered the way they covered Joe Biden. There was a Republican campaign in place for years to paint Joe Biden in mental decline, even if he won the Pulitzer prize for literature. Trump’s decline is organic. Like burlesque, Trump teases the audience with what he might show us next. Will he drop a veil or a vowel? Suddenly, Elon, his very good friend, is now Leon. This is my wife, and her name is ah, ah, ah. Obvious gaffes which can not be painted over. The contrived media see nothing. The mainstream media talks about it, but only so much. Without social preparation it would appear to be piling on. Tonight’s debate should just about put a lid on it. A career prosecutor versus a declining blow hard. Gee, who do you think is gonna win? If he starts to ramble on about wind power being responsible for the decline in bacon sales. That should just about do it for the old boy. “If your opponent has a choleric temper, seek to irritate him. Pretend to be weak, that he may grow arrogant.” – Sun Tzu Pick at him and make him angry. Reference the word “weird” a few times. Mention Russia and the recent Justice Department indictment. Those two seem to have gotten under his skin like a diaper rash. Then, when he’s all overwrought and ready to boil, burn him. Use complicated language so that his answers look foolish. Give two-part compound answers so that he may be troubled in following along. Give him enough rope. One uncontrolled outburst about Russia and poor, poor picked upon Donald Trump, should just about finish him. Mr. Trump has already claimed he will be called the loser of the debate no matter how well he does. That’s the social preparation I was talking about. Yeah, the games are all fixed. They are all out to do it to me again! But of all of Mr. Trump’s recent gaffes, the oddest and least covered is Mr. Trump’s admission that he lost the 2020 election. Why would he admit that…now? It won’t please anyone or make him look magnanimous. It won’t please the herd in any way. All those Republicans who have long supported his big lie campaign and now he does this? Thank you for your support, here’s a big crème pie right in the kisser. The whole election denial shtick collapsed like a house of cards. So summer is over, and Congress returns to haunt the hallowed halls. The Republicans have come up with a stopgap funding solution. All moderate and reasonable until you reach the part about tightening voter ID requirements nationwide. First, it is unconstitutional as elections are the province of the states alone. Second, eight weeks out from a national election out it would create pure pandemonium. I’ve been a poll worker, and nobody is voting who shouldn’t. Under law, you can bring a utility bill as a form of ID, but I’ve never seen one. Once you sign in your name is marked as voted. If someone else claims to be you. They will be given a provisional ballot. If your job is handling the provisional ballot table on election night, you are in for a slow night. The Republicans will attempt to rescue Donald Trump with a suicide strategy. If you don’t let us jimmy, the election we’re going to shut down the government eight weeks before a national election. That is rich! That is hysterical! That is desperation on a half shell. Like Blazing Saddles, holding a gun to their own heads and threatening to shoot.
