This could be the year! Ken Calvert could be out - Finally! [1]

For the past several elections my husband and I have worked for whatever campaign was challenging Ken Calvert of CA-41 house district. We had heard all the sordid stories about him and his corrupt practices. So, we decided to do something about it. We started with supporting and delivering fliers for Tim Sheridan. We walked probably about 15 miles delivering then. Tim didn’t win but we tried. Then we supported Jorge Lopez by putting out signage wherever possible, went to several of the strategy meetings and did what we could. Jorge didn’t win, but he did get more votes than Tim did. Next we met Will Rollins at the Escondido VFW Post and were super impressed. Of the three challengers he was definitely the best candidate and even though we were still depressed from trying and losing in the past, we decided to do the same for him. He even got a larger share of the vote, but didn’t win. Each year it has been an uphill battle, the incumbent who has been accused of corrupt practices several times has had name recognition going for him. He has millions of signs and he uses them over and over and over again. Some seem to be up permanently. However, each year the number of votes for the challenger has grown.

This year we are doing what we can for Will and the energy is off the charts. We had a meeting in Lake Elsinore yesterday and started doing door to door deliveries of signs and campaign materials. I have never had a really positive end of day feeling before, but this time it is different. I actually feel as if we have a serious chance of beating Calvert this year. The number of volunteers, the energy, the reception we are receiving. Something is definitely different. I think Calvert is in for one hell of a night come November 5th and I could not be happier.

The one difference that I can see this time around is that I am actually seeing advertising on YouTube and other sources for Will Rollins. I have not seen any challenger do that before and I think people in this district are seeing them and they are working.

I don’t know if people in politics are watching this race, but they should be. We live in a very RED district and TFG supporters used to be out, loud, and proud. But now they have all slunk back into the holes they have come out of and the new Loud, Proud, and Vocal minority seems to be taking over.

I think we have a real chance here folks. I think if anyone can beat Calvert it is Rollins. He is busting his ass in this his second go around, and I think this time he is going to win.
