CNN Hard on Harris But M.I.A with Trump [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-08-29 There’s nothing wrong with asking “hard hitting” questions, but it can’t be a one way street. The CNN interview was more like a contentious debate, with Dana Bash standing in for Trump, because he is basically incapable of coherent thought. The double standard on display was nauseating. When asked about fracking and the border, studious contrarian Bash kept coming back with feverishly researched followup questions trying to catch Vice President Kamala Harris in some kind of gotcha moment. It’s as if she listened to all those complaining repubs who say she can be easily beat if Trump would just go after her on her “record”, and she said “Hold my beer.” That would be okay if Trump received the same treatment. And yet when CNN did their lame Trump “interview” in front of rabid MAGA morons it was nothing but a fountain of unchallenged lies. How many followup questions did Kaitlin Collins ask Trump in their ridiculous, phony “town hall”? How many lies was Trump called on after his extended gish galloping? And yet Kamala has to be forced to sit there and comment on Trump’s vile obscene attacks on her race and MAGA talking points from the mouth of a reporter for the sake of CNN’s ratings. This is not the mainstream press doing its job, this is a news organization licking its chops at the prospect of being the first to discover weakness in the democratic ticket. Thankfully, and not surprisingly, Kamala and Tim Walz were up to the challenge. But Trump should be given the same treatment. Tell them to get lost, Kamala, every last one of them. Don’t do another interview with the MSM until Trump sits down and has an exchange with an actual critical journalist.
