Each person will go through four phases in their rotation: Shore Duty Crew has a normal day at the Spaceport Workups Crew gets ready for the upcoming deployment Deployment Crew is deployed Shore Leave Crew on vacation Every rotation has two orbital deployments and one lunar deployment. Vacation time is not needed because of the large number of Shore Leave days. Crew on Shore Duty act as backups in case another astronaut can't deploy (because of pregnancy, for example). When the astronaut is deemed fit for duty, they will be returned to the crew rotation. :: VENTURESTAR CREW Since their schedule varies from a one–day deployment to a 9–day deployment, this Spaceliner Reentry Vehicle (RV) crew has an unusual schedule (Table below). Shore Duty 7 days Workups 1 days Lunar Deployment 9 days Shore Leave 5 days Shore Duty 6 days Workups 1 days Orbital Deployment 1 days Shore Leave 3 days Shore Duty 8 days Workups 1 days Orbital Deployment 1 days Shore Leave 3 days The Lunar Deployment involves the Purple Shirts staying onboard the RV whist the Yellow Shirt boards the Moon Ship for 7 days. :: TOURISM CREW These Black and Yellow Shirt astronauts get to have a more consistent schedule. They will have three Half–Quarter (46–day) deployments (Table below). Shore Duty 33 days Workups 12 days Deployment 46 days Shore Leave 12 days Shore Duty 34 days :: There are three rotations, called a Cycle, for the crew: two orbital deployments and one lunar deployment. SPACE CREW Astronauts who wear Blue, Gray, Khaki, or Green Shirts fall in this category. The have full Quarter deployments that last 91 days. Three Quarters marks a Cycle (Table below). Shore Duty 68 days Workups 23 days Deployment 91 days Shore Leave 23 days Shore Duty 69 days All Ensigns and Lieutenants have four duty rotations within their deployment. Cleaning Duty Station Duty Outpost Duty Expeditionary Duty Only Ensigns clean the stations (Table below). Cleaning Duty 30 days Station Duty 31 days Outpost Duty 30 days They swap Cleaning Duty with Expeditionary Duty when promoted to Lieutenant (Table below). Expeditionary Duty 30 days Station Duty 31 days Outpost Duty 30 days :: All orbital and lunar crews will have identical schedules (Table 4): START END DURATION Wakeup 04:45 Morning Routine 04:45 6:30 1:45 Breakfast 06:30 07:00 0:30 On Duty 07:00 On Duty Period 07:00 12:00 5:00 Lunch 12:00 12:30 0:30 On Duty Period 12:30 19:00 6:30 Off Duty 19:00 Dinner 19:00 19:30 0:30 Off Duty Period 19:30 22:45 3:15 Sleep 22:45 Sleep Period 22:45 04:45 6:00 We will allow the crew to work as an astronaut for 40 years. Eighteen cycles, at 2.25 months each, is 40.5 years. :: We will accept applications when three criteria have been met: 30–years of age Bachelor Degree Military Flyer We may have to provide exceptions to point #3 for Purple and Khaki Shirts. =<<>>= VEHICLES We have four vehicles that will conduct regularly scheduled flights into space or to the Moon. Space Shuttle Orbital Payload Lunar Payload Moon Ship Moon Shuttle Lunar Shuttle The shuttles are transport–only vehicles hauling payload whilst the Moon Ship is a tourist–only vehicle. The Reentry Vehicle (RV) is the Space Shuttle The Orbital Vehicle (OV) is the Moon Ship The Cislunar Vehicle (CV) is the Moon Shuttle The Lunar Vehicle (LV) is the Lunar Shuttle =<<>>= SPACE SHUTTLE OPERATIONS Our Space Shuttle will have a very robust flight schedule. Our calendar will be divided into four Quarters, with each lasting 91 days. Each Quarter is further divided into six 15–day segments, and an extra day attached at the end. We plan to fly 8 days out of 15 days. Each flight day will consist of three Space Shuttle launches. This gives us an astonishing 24 spaceflights every 15 days, or 144 flights every Quarter (576 launches per year). A robust flight schedule indeed. :: For passengers going up (crew or tourists), they will wake up, have breakfast, and blast off into space. The following launch timelines (Tables below) are for the passenger version of the shuttle: START END DURATION Wakeup 05:30 Morning Routine 05:30 06:30 1:00 Breakfast 06:30 07:00 0:30 Onload Passengers 07:00 07:20 0:20 Passenger Door Closed 07:20 07:22 0:02 Preflight Preparations 07:22 Payload Installation 07:22 07:52 0:30 Close Payload Doors 0:52 07:57 0:05 Flight Ready Check 07:57 08:02 0:05 Hanger Flight Checks 08:02 08:12 0:10 Deliver to Launchpad 08:12 08:33 0:21 Install on Launchpad 08:33 08:43 0:10 Rotate RV to Vertical 08:43 08:53 0:10 Nitrogen Purge 08:53 09:03 0:10 Tank Chill Down 09:03 09:13 0:10 Propellant Loading 09:13 09:58 0:45 Flight Ready Hold 09:58 09:59 0:01 Final Flight Check 09:59 10:00 0:01 Liftoff 10:00 Rendezvous with EOS 10:00 10:51 0:51 Docking Routine 10:51 11:43 0:52 Hatch Open 11:43 Exit Shuttle 11:43 12:00 0:17 Lunch 12:00 12:30 0:30 Off Duty 12:30 19:00 6:30 Dinner 19:00 19:30 0:30 Off Duty 19:30 22:45 3:15 Sleep Period 22:45 04:45 6:00 Wakeup 04:45 Morning Routine 04:45 06:30 1:45 Breakfast 06:30 07:00 0:30 On Duty 07:00 :: For passengers going down (crew or tourists), they will wake up, have breakfast, and land back on Earth.
