MSM's embarrassing coverage of Harris speech [1]

NY Times and Washington Post relegated Harris’ acceptance speech to bottom of front page of news sites, SF area newspapers attack her tax plan. MSM social media does a little better but basically the press I’ve reviewed today are sending the message that they are not going to give her fair treatment.

Granted, I only looked at so many sources, but the BBC was most attentive to the speech, with “Four takeaways from Harris convention speech” and “Harris speech fact check” heading up their web page.

NY Times website front page: Abortion on the ballot, Donald Trump tweets, RFK Jr., commentary on Dems attacks on Trump, assorted features, and, at bottom, Harris faces challenges, and finally its speech coverage being about how Harris dressed (see arrow) and, bottom right: "Harris: confident, principled – presidential: Best and Worst Moments from convention." That dropped off when I narrowed my window. I used a screen shot as my cover picture, so follow the red arrow. The Times actually has a nice graphic about how voters are describing the election, which is included in the cover screenshot I took.

Washington Post doesn't even mention Harris on the front page of their website front page, but if you scroll down far enough you. Headlines are RFK, a close race, something about democratic hopefuls (?), and Matt Perry. If you scroll down three screens at this width, you will see, “Harris campaign releases new ad” on lower left.

Those websites may have changed by the time you follow the links.

My local press coverage was even more pathetically biased. The front page of our daily paper, the East Bay Times (SF Bay area), you get this front page coverage of her speech: “Harris proposes $5T tax hike.” This is about our “favorite son candidate” in a regional newspaper for her home town in her home state. If you read the article instead of just the headline, you find out most of that “hike” is not from an increase but from allowing the Trump tax cuts for oligarchs and corporations to sunset and that people under $400,000 per year will either see tax cuts or no increase. Who owns the news media, anyway? It's almost like big corporations and billionaires are trying to fry our brains with their MSM BS. What exactly does Harris owe these guys again?

I have to get on to some other projects, so that’s it for now but I’m curious about what other local newspapers are saying.

From what I’m reading, this is going to be a media pile on to punish Harris for not giving them an interview. Personally, I hope she gives her first interview to The View hosts or maybe Steven Colbert.

We know that X and Facebook are already rigged to support Trump. This is going to be hand to hand political combat taken to the voters, folks. Don’t kid yourself, the deck is still stacked against democracy.
