Minor Hope for Tonight's Convention [1]

Tonight is largely focused on President Joe Biden. He will presumably look back and look forward, with the convention crowd standing and cheering for every paragraph. He has earned it all and more.

I have a small hope, not so much political as personal, and no bad feelings if it doesn’t come about.

Just before his final few minutes, I hope Joe calls out:

Barack? Nancy? Chuck? Could you please join me on the stage?

President Biden is reportedly pissed off at all three, mostly for the unpleasant public pressure on him to retire.

Joe: I’m old enough to know that hard feelings don’t last, even for an Irishman—but friendship does.

Hugs all around.

They leave the stage and President Biden finishes with a fiery call to Unite! behind Harris and Walz.
