Aaron Hawkins, Fighting for a Better Florida [1]

Throughout the State of Florida Republicans have become complacent toward areas they have taken for granted. Our community on the Treasure Coast is one of those places. The Treasure Coast deserves a passionate and attentive public servant in the State Senate.

I am running for Florida Senate District 31 in Martin County and parts of Palm Beach and St. Lucie Counties. I am fighting to prioritize our community's issues in Tallahassee.

I am a native of Stuart, and my family has roots spanning more than a hundred years in the Treasure Coast. I am the proud son of hardworking parents: my father worked for Martin County Sanitation, and my mother served as a healthcare administrator with Martin Memorial Health Services for over 30 years.

I graduated from Florida State University with a B.S. in Economics and an M.S. in International Affairs. I am trained as a policy analyst, but I have professional experience in real estate, organizational management, data science, and business management. Since 2020, while running my own business, I have been active in my community, working with the Martin County Black Heritage Initiative, NAACP, Stuart Main Street, and Martin County Democrats. I recently was appointed to the City of Stuart Community Redevelopment Board.

If elected, I promise to serve with an open ear and make sure that our communities’ needs are prioritized.

My Policy Priorities for District 31 are:

Advocating for market solutions to regulate insurance and housing prices to keep living costs in check.

Medicaid expansion coverage for seniors and improved mental health support.

Banning harmful chemicals to protect public health and ensuring clean water.

Enforcing home rule and the authority of local governments.

With so many critical issues at stake this election year this district would be a crucial step in reshaping the Florida legislature. Floridians will have the power to protect the right to abortion, legalize recreational marijuana, and ensure that all school boards remain nonpartisan across the state of Florida. This legislature has shown in the past they are willing to sidestep the will of the voters. This is not a district Florida Republicans expect to lose, but that makes this race so crucial. It will be a critical blow to the Republican supermajority and a crucial step to return power to the citizens of the Treasure Coast.

My aim is to uplift the voices of the hardworking people of the Treasure Coast and bring long-awaited change to the State Senate. If you believe Florida deserves new leadership, please consider joining, donating, and supporting my campaign for State Senate District 31.
