This is the email that Senator Sanders sent us this morning.

“Dear Fellow Vermonter,

Parents and teachers tell me that children today spend too much time on their phones, and not enough time playing and socializing.

As a kid I spent half my life playing basketball. It’s a great sport. It creates discipline, a striving for excellence, and an understanding of teamwork.

Last Saturday, we held “Basketball with Bernie” events in Winooski, Derby, and St. Albans. We held free throw shooting contests and our campaign gave out a lot of free basketballs. Who knows? Maybe a future NBA or WNBA star got one. In any case, it was a lot of fun. Here are some photos of the events:”

So it got me to thinking. Not that I have anywhere near the political knowledge or experience to make meaningful suggestions. But what if….

Probably never, but feasible.

Not so with the Pretensident. And I remember President Obama playing basketball and being a President. Good politicians seem to bring joy with them.
