The Joy Turns Flooding the Zone to Hilarity [1]

Steve Bannon wanted us to be terrified of Trumpskyites “flooding the zone with s**t,” properly known as the Firehose of Falsehood. We’d have so many lies filling our lives that we’d be unable tell truth from fiction. And sure enough, a lot of the MAGA faithful claim to believe it.

But even they don’t, for the most part. It’s all just an excuse for them to be the horrible people they most wish to be. And the majority of Americans DEFINITELY don’t believe him. Americans, by and large, are a thinking people. Yeah, we fall for the bread and circuses, the shiny objects, and the wedge issues more than we should. Still, Republicans have been falling short of expectations for quite a while now.

And then a critical mass of Liberals refused to play ball with the Corporate Democrats, the Blue Dogs, the deep pocketed funders, and the reactionary centrists who sought to take out the first truly Liberal Presidency in decades and replace it with a milquetoast puppet who would probably lose in November.

And now there is joy. There is laughter. We are LAUGHING at The Old One when he tells 162 lies per hour or insists 15,000 people at an airplane hangar never existed. We find he and his weird sidekick to be laughable. We BELIEVE for the first time in a while that we not only deserve better, but we can get it. Huge numbers of us are willing to work for it. Masses of people, working independently but in common cause. And so we come back around to the pic above. You didn’t think I’d tease you with a Taylor Swift pic without somehow tying into her or her Swifties, did you? Strong, independent women are finding common cause all over, and a lot of us men are more than happy to be their allies.
