Just a feeling, but it looks like finally the teeth are starting to bite into the soil. Covid had us (me) so so very locked down. We had to keep hubby and Madeline safe, so we just locked down as tight as we could. Son in law stopped working so he could go out and get groceries for both household. Madeline has Cystic Fibrosis a deadly genetic lung and digestion disease , so we were terrified Covid would kill her. Hubby had two kidney failures and a stroke before Covid, so we were very concerned for him, too.

Our daughter who is a teacher had to suffer harassment from Trumper teachers who refused masks and then she got transferred to a different school because of teacher shortages at the larger high school. Where the intercom announced the death of teachers to students sitting in the auditorium.

Our granddaughter spend a year and a half sitting at our dinning room table for “school at home” with two fantastic teachers who used all there skills to move their kids forward. The gym teacher and all the other subject teachers did the best they could while having students sitting in their classroom and tending to the kids at home. they pulled out all the the apps and stops and moved our kid forward.

We all are up in our personal concerns, our little is heading for middle school soon. (my claim to fame). Daughter back to work today.

Every year away, we heal and get better. Son in law has had a job for a few years. Hubby doing great. Trikafta has been a fantastic medication for the granddaughter. Daughter back to her third year back onto her old campus. Trumper teachers moved on.

So now, its time for school to start yet again. Supply list gone through and purchased. As a former teacher/educator/university president’s wife, August/September is the start of the “New Year” for our kids, their parents and grandparents and many people who support our schools.

Happy New Year, folks!!

It’s feels like a more hopeful time.

For kids who don’t have school soon.
