"I'm obsessed with Tim Walz." ... Parkland's David Hogg on Kamala Harris' VP Selection: [1]

Matthew Chapman at Raw Story interviewed March for Our Future’s David Hogg about the Vice Presidential race and asked. “Is there someone you or [your Gen Z] friends like,….?"

David Hogg replied, "I will say this much: I am obsessed and I love Governor Tim Walz. He is by far one of the most experienced people up there," Hogg explained. "He has not only won over five times one of the hardest congressional districts in the country that he won in rural Minnesota over and over and over again, even in 2010, he has also been an excellent governor. One of the most successful so far this century in terms of Democratic governors. Ultimately, you know, if you want the blue wall, he is a football coach that made his high school state champions. He was a unionized agricultural worker, a teacher, and a veteran. Tim Walz is the blue wall. And he knows how to communicate and he has the experience on the Hill to advance legislation. And that's why I would love to see him there."



Hogg also said that any VP candidate, other than someone like Marjorie Taylor Greene, will probably be okay with young voters.



So being at the other end of the spectrum and part of Gen Z-Z-Z-Z-Z-Z, I’m also obsessed with the possibility of a VP nomination for Tim Walz—who is so demonstrably effective and articulate in a rural, moderate state.



I can see Tim Walz going to all 50 state capitals, and to a couple small towns in each state and explain, finally, in a way that rural voters can understand, why, in spite of Fox News lies, the Democrats are infinitely better for rural Americans. In doing so, there is the chance for the Harris/Walz ticket (and their fellow Democrats) to lose the farmers and small town inhabitants by less, perhaps much less, and thereby produce the statewide Democratic landslides that will allow President Harris to forge the rules for the Kinder, Better, Fairer, Safer America we all want to see.
