I doubt it’s news to you, but the United States has an opportunity for a new day. I’m excited to support our MVP, Madam Vice President Kamala Harris, for President.

The ascension of Vice President Harris is a bracing, energizing jolt to the Democratic Party. This moment brings us several lessons.

First, in politics, character makes our struggle worthwhile.

Second, Democrats follow a higher path, as President Biden showed us.

Third, certain folks have to behave a certain way for us to win. Only energized Democrats can save American democracy.

My opponent lives outside District 65. They are endorsed and funded by interests based outside the district. Voters in District 65 agree with Democratic policies, but don’t trust Democratic Party leaders. I can’t blame them.

The same people who drove Florida’s Democratic Party into the superminority ditch support my opponent. Florida cannot afford giving them the keys again. This campaign believes in trusting friends and neighbors over powerful individuals. Tampeños in Florida’s 65th deserve a representative focused on people, not performance. We’ve seen how it ends with leaders asleep at the wheel.
