[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-07-29 I wrote about this a while back. But with the momentum we have seen within the last week or so, I feel the need to write about this some more. As you can see by Itzl's concerned look, this group is for us to check in at, to let people know we are alive, doing OK, and not affected by such things as heat, blizzards, floods, wildfires, hurricanes, tornadoes, power outages, or other such things that could keep us off Daily Kos. If you're not here, or anywhere else on Daily Kos, and there are adverse conditions in your area (floods, heatwaves, hurricanes, etc.), we are going to check up on you. If you are going to be away from your computer for a day or a week, let us know here. We care! IAN is a great group to join, and a good place to learn to write diaries. Drop one of us a PM to be added to the Itzl Alert Network anytime! We all share the publishing duties, and we welcome everyone who reads IAN to write diaries for the group! Every member is an editor, so anyone can take a turn when they have something to say, photos and music to share, a cause to promote or news! This is our current schedule of regular IAN diary writers: Monday: Youffraita Tuesday: bigjacbigjacbigjac Wednesday: Pam from Calif Thursday: art ah zen Friday: FloridaSNMOM Saturday: FloridaSNDad Sunday: loggersbrat The little dog is named Itzl. en.wikipedia.org/… Because this fine young lady will be at the top of the ticket in the November elections, and will dominate the news from now until then, she will simply persuade millions of Americans, many of them young first-time voters, to get out and vote! Yes! (I call her a young lady because I was already nine years old when she was born.) (I also call here a young lady because so many folks feel that Joe Biden is too old. Well, she is truly not too old. Not at all.) Anyway. Most, nearly all, of those young voters will vote blue, no matter who. They will elect Senators, and House members, and Governors, and state lawmakers, and mayors, etc. The Senate: en.wikipedia.org/… Overall[j] D/I - 46 R - 50 4 tossups D/I - 48 R - 50 2 tossups D/I - 48 R - 50 2 tossups D/I - 43 R - 50 7 tossups D/I - 47 R - 51 2 tossups D/I - 46 R - 51 3 tossups Because of what I just wrote above, these numbers are, most likely, not correct. These numbers are based on polling done, much of it, weeks ago. Nobody has polled those young, new, voters. Ha! As I look at each seat, I simply think that all the tossups will go blue, giving us 50 seats. Plus, three more will go blue, giving us 53 seats. The three that the Wikipedia article calls solid Republican, and I do not agree: Rick Scott’s seat in Florida Ted Cruz’s seat in Texas Joe Manchin’s seat in West Virginia. en.wikipedia.org/… Way less than 2 million people in the state. How many of them are adult, registered, voters? Add those older voters of West Virginia who always vote blue, (but usually get outvoted by the other side), add them to the younger new voters who will vote blue, and it seems to me that all those voters might add up to a blue wave in West Virginia. Seems to me. Now, for the House: en.wikipedia.org/… Overall D – 203 R – 210 22 tossups D – 209 R – 216 10 tossups D – 206 R – 211 18 tossups D – 207 R – 210 18 tossups D – 210 R – 208 17 tossups D – 206 R – 213 16 tossups For this article, the only poll even taken in July, is the one on the right side of the list. Let us add all the tossups to the Democrats: D-222 R-213 But I think we can do even better than that. Here is what that article has for my home state, Kansas: Kansas 3 R+1 Sharice Davids 54.9% D Likely D Likely D Likely D Safe D Very Likely D Likely D Kansas has four House districts. But the folks at Wikipedia apparently felt that it would be a waste of space on our computer screens to show us the other three seats, that have been held by Republicans for a very long time. But, like West Virginia, Kansas has a small population. And each House seat only has www.bing.com/… 708,376.6 persons The Wichita, Kansas metro area, with 500,000 people, dominates the Kansas Fourth District. Sharice Davids has the city folks in the Kansas City, Kansas area, who vote blue. We have the voters of the Wichita, Kansas area. freemanforkansas.com Esau Freeman US Congressional Candidate Esau Freeman is running for the US House of Representatives in Kansas’s 4th Congressional district. Here in Kansas, the voters voted a hard NO to the Republican sponsored Value Them Both Amendment, in 2022, that would have given Republican state lawmakers the power to ban abortions in Kansas. (Abortion is legal in Kansas.) So, all those pro-choice voters, and the new voters, together, can flip our district blue. We can send Mr. Freeman to the House, in place of Republican Ron Estes, our current member of the House. If what I say comes true here in Kansas, and in similar districts in some other states, we can have a truly big majority in the House. So, in January of 2025, we will have: Kamala Harris and her running mate, victorious at the top of the ticket. A majority of 53 Democrats in the Senate. A majority of 225 or more Democrats in the House. Ha! Then, we, America, can get started on reforms for the Supreme Court, as Joe Biden just announced. Amending the Constitution takes time. We can get started, in January. Plus, codify Roe, as Joe has said many times. Plus, other things, as we try our best to make everything succeed: www.bing.com/… What I feel, I can't say But my love is there for you any time of day But if it's not love that you need Then I'll try my best to make everything succeed I truly do try my best to make everything succeed. That is, usually, what Democrats do. Ha! Hugs, to all of you. Hugs.
