Four Great Choices for VP - An Embarrassment of Riches [1]

Any of these four would be excellent additions — they are all great on TV and have the ability to attack the R’s without coming across as overtly snide or nasty.

1) Tim Waltz — Best for broad appeal to the “white working” class in the “Blue Wall” states. His “these are just weird people” comment probably catapulted him from longshot to frontrunner status. In terms of legislation passed, he may be the nations most successful Democratic Governor. Biggest weakness is the “he looks old” — and as we know optics are a big part of this.

2) Josh Shapiro — Best for likely guaranteeing the most problematic of the Blue Wall states. While there are other paths without MI or WI — there is none without PA. Biggest weakness is not that he he is Jewish (so is Kamala’s husband) but that his prior support of Israel's Gaza operation may turn off the large Arab population in Michigan.

3) Pete Buttigieg — Best choice by far if she wants to “walk the talk” with regards to her campaign theme of “Going Forward vs Going Backward” and really making this thing about a choice of the type of America we want to live in. Biggest weakness is the elephant in the room. As good as the others are on TV, he is a once in a generation talent and If he were straight, is there anyone who doesn’t think he would be the top contender?

4) Mark Kelly — Given his Military & NASA background, probably helps the most with middle age to older white male voters who are about to be bombarded with “scary black woman” adds! He is not as strong on TV as the others — but still good. His personal story also allows the campaign to talk about gun control in a very personal way and effectively ends Trumps ability to use his ear grazing as his “I took a bullet for the country” moment. The campaign will never have to say it, but everyone in America will understand the difference between “being shot at” and “being shot”. Biggest weakness is that we may loose the Senate Seat (that we really need) in two years with him gone.
