The Hillbilly and the Toad. [1]

America is in love with surfaces. That’s why Hollywood is so successful. That’s why Tik-tok, X, various other media glad handers succeed and you hear the word viral such that it gets tiresome. I mean the latest seem to be a petite blond with a southern accent the “Hawk Tuah” girl. Who it seems is famous now for spitting. I looked into it because as a writer I was intrigued by two words that made no sense to me. Being slow it took me a few tries to get to the real meaning.

This diary isn’t about politics. It’s more about how we live in an increasingly superficial media world..and how it affects our view of reality. I’m not that smart...I still haven’t figured out the Kardashian clan. I finally decided they were famous for being famous and were excellent at essokinesis. They seem to have made a fabulous amount of money and publicity.

This is something Trump seems to have learned at an early age and excels at too. Regardless of how much I am thankful for Joe Biden and the great job he did. His surface was starting to look a little ghostly. He clearly still had the wisdom, and depth to carry on. Alas finally all the wear and tragedies in his life rubbed him down like an old buffalo nickel.

Like i said America is in love with surfaces and Trump’s tawdry gold and glitter and JD Vances eye makeup attracted the American public like silver flashing ribbon in the vegetable fields I drive by daily.

You all remember the parable of the frog and the scorpion.

“A scorpion asks a frog to carry him over a river. The frog is afraid of being stung, but the scorpion argues that if it did so, both would sink and the scorpion would drown. The frog then agrees, but midway across the river the scorpion does indeed sting the frog, dooming them both.”

Well we found our scorpion in Kamala Harris. Being a former prosecutor and a Senator of the fifth largest economy on the planet and now Vice President, I have the best of hopes for her. I think she is capable of pithing the Toad something fierce.

Now we can all concentrate on learning to swim. Buck up everyone! It’s going to be great to see her pull ahead of the Toad in the polls.
