Closing arguments were today in the historic criminal election interference trial of the disgraced former president Donald Trump. After Trump's lawyer Todd Blanche made his argument in the morning session, Joshua Steinglass made the final argument for the prosecution.

Steinglass began by outlining the 3 basic elements of the offense in the jury instructions:

1. Business records were falsified.

2. This was done using an unlawful means with the intent to influence the election.

3. Trump directed the records to be falsified for this purpose or intentionally caused others to do so.
