Good morning, folks, and happy Mother’s Day to any moms out there.

So how many here got a good look at the auroras? For all the gorgeous images I’ve seen from well south of here in my part of WI they were pretty unimpressive. I was outside several times between 10:30 PM Friday and 3:00 AM Saturday. All I saw was a slightly greenish sky. I’ve seen better during past Januarys when they weren’t worth mentioning. I also apparently missed them this past night. Maybe this coming night. There was another huge solar flare last night just as the first batch of auroras was petering out. Spaceweather.com is saying we might get a replay of the recent aurora display in the early morning hours of the 13th. Stay tuned. We are approaching the 11 year solar maximum.

In the meantime, how about some Ray Charles?
