Beer news locally: a few years ago there were 3 homebrew supply stores in the county, last month there were 2, now there are zero. I know there are web stores that will sell me all the same stuff, maybe even with free shipping, but these places had been part of our community for a long time. I think I’ve seen it reported that homebrewing is down in general, possibly because there’s such an extensive variety of craft beer available now.

I started with the Old Speckled Hen pictured above and now I’ve got “Love” Hazy IPA from Almanac.
