[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-04-20 "go to sleep little doggie, go to sleep" I sang to her the first night that she stayed in our house. We had just adopted her and she wouldn't go to sleep. She kept crying in her crate. My wife already, had one dog and I really didn't want another dog since I really didn't like dogs. I got up from the bed upset at the new dog, but once I saw how sad she was it broke my heart. To help her go to sleep I started to sing to her a lullaby "go to sleep little doggie, go to sleep" . In the moment that my heart broke for her, she managed to run into my soul and made her home there. She became my dog. I sang to her many nights as she went to sleep, sometimes in her bed, but sometimes when she was afraid of the rain, she slept in our bed. This morning I sang her to sleep as her eyes closed for the last time. "Go to sleep little doggie, go to sleep" Thank you for all the great memories, eating tacos together, running in the park, cuddling up on the sofa, hearing you snore as you slept. Thank you for being a huge part of my life story. Thank you for all the love you gave me, I will remember you always. Have great dreams in heaven. "Go to sleep little doggie, go to sleep. . ."
