Another legend has left [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-04-18 Dickie Betts has passed, now jamming with Duane. The Allman Bros were a major part of my life’s soundtrack. Not because I was into them but my little brother was. Donnie had them cranked all the time, Southern Rock was his genre. Donnie also recently passed so I hope the two of them cross paths on their current journeys. That’s why I feel compelled to share these thoughts. This being my first diary, I want it to mean something to me. Been hanging around here for quite some time off and on, so I felt this was a cool time to speak out loud. The 70’s was my favorite musical period and I appreciated the guitarists during that time. Changing music. Don’t even want to start listing the musicians that influenced me, it would run a bit long. Suffice to say, I’m sad at the loss of Dickie. I have to say that Mr Betts was one of the best, this coming from someone who was more into Punk with a dose of AC-DC & Bowie thrown in. We were blessed to have been able to share such talent. Blessings to the Betts family.
