[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-04-13 Soon after the lone Bronco of lore failed to make good its escape, lawyer/bard William “Shakespeare” Kunstler began to pen a series of gems that he saw, through time, comprising a collection called The Simpson Sonnets*. Alas, by dying less than 15 months after O.J. was nabbed, he took his aspiring literary immortality to the grave. Meanwhile, he did manage to grace posterity with the pith of “When the Cheering Stopped;” that Shakespearean (form, not quality) sonnet concludes, “He’s learned the cruelest lesson of them all- / Celebrity does not prevent a fall.” Wow. Cruel, or what? And yet nowhere near so mean as the Big Orange Cheese of “Celebrity Apprentice” looking to rise head, shoulders, and mature person diapers above the law- while we, the people, fall beneath his scrawny thumb. Sad. (In effect, you might say we’ve been chasing a big, stretch Bronco- posited as a Presidential “Beast,” if you will- while traipsing along on roller skates.) So. If only to keep from falling beneath the hard, cruel wheels (as it were) of his undead win-or-coup juggernaut, can we take pains to move faster? Drop the gloves? Put on some speed? What have you? Starting (better late than never) NOW??? *Only O.J. Not Bart, Marge, or Homer.
