[1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-04-09 It seems to be originalist cherry picking. The right wing originalist’s in the U.S. supreme court seem to believe they can also cherry pick. But staying with Arizona why just that law? During that time the age of consent was10 in Arizona. To vote you had to be a white male. When Arizona became a territory slavery was abolished there by H.R. 357. There weren’t laws against cocaine or opium. I tried looking up other laws during that time but the present fiasco drowned that out. From what I read of just the law concerning abortion it seems to me the sentencing guides would also apply to the post office or any other entity delivering a drug. So UPS, FedEx, etc.? The good old days were never the good old days. To try to return to them is a fantasy held by those who never went past the cliff notes on history. Or just a cynical attempt at forcing their views onto others. 120 years plus of changes to the laws in Arizona evidently mean nothing to them.
