Congress will be notified of $18 billion sale of F-15 fighter planes to Israel [1]

CNN’s Natasha Bertrand reports that the Administration is set to formally notify lawmakers of its decision to send 50 F-15 fighter planes to Israel worth $18 billion. It will take about five years to build these aircraft. The Israeli officials would like the delivery expedited, but no decision has been made on that front. “The Congress will have 30 days to block the sale with a joint resolution of disapproval—a mechanism which has never been successfully utilized by the Congress to block a proposed arms transfer.”www.cnn.com/...It should be noted that this sale is in addition to the F-35 planes and bombs arms transfer package that was quietly green-lighted last week.

It appears our generosity to arm the government of Benjamin Netanyahu has no limit. It will be interesting to hear the debates in Congress about the wisdom of doing so given the conflict calamities in the region.
