Tidbits Gleaned from Prelim Results and Exit Polling of the 2024 OH Kwazy Klown Klub Primary [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-03-20 For the first time in my 65+ year life, I decided to look at published exit poll results that occasionally accompany MSM articles about election results (preliminary, or otherwise). As expected, the Abominable Showman won his KKK primary, but with slightly less than 80% support even as he had no remaining primary opponents. First: the counties with less than 80% support for the Ochre Ogre, at the time I viewed the data Cuyahoga (71.7%) Delaware (69.5%) Fairfield (79.9%) Franklin (69.8%) Geauga (72.1%) Greene (75.4%) Hamilton (71.8%) Hancock (75.9%) Henry (78.2%) Lake (77.8%) Lorain (78.5%) Lucas (77.6%) Medina (77.8%) Montgomery (77.5%) Pickaway (79.9%) Seneca (79.2%) Summit (76.2%) Union (76.1%) Warren (79.0%) Wayne (79.1%) Williams (79.7%) Wood (73.8%) Now, for the fun (or moderately interesting) stuff embedded in the exit poll results: The results should be understood as (nn% support DJT, from xx% of poll respondents) DJT (vs. Haley) support Ages 17 — 29 (74% support, from 7% of respondents) College graduate (68% support, from 44% of respondents) Bachelor's degree (BA or BS) (73% support, from 26% of respondents) An advanced degree after a bachelor's degree (61% support, from 17% of respondents) (it looks like education can be useful ...) Self-described Independent or something else (65% support, from 21% of respondents) Political moderate or liberal (47% support, from 19% of respondents) Not a white evangelical or born-again Christian (72% support, from 51% of respondents) Economy is excellent or good (17% support, from 12% of respondents) Family getting ahead financially (55% support, from 14% of respondents) Economy is most important issue (74% support, from 31% of respondents) Oppose nationwide abortion ban (66% support, from 42% of respondents) Angry opinion of Roe v. Wade reversal (51% support, from 15% of respondents) Undocumented immigrants should be offered a chance to apply for legal status (56% support, from 22% of respondents) Dissatisfied if the Abominable Showman wins nomination (4% support, from 18% of respondents) DJT has the temperament to serve effectively as president (8% support, from 19% of respondents) DJT is fit to be president if convicted of a crime (34% support, from 26% of respondents) DJT’s 2nd term would be worse than his first (3% support, from 14% of respondents) Disapprove of the way DJT handled his job when he was president (19% support, from 17% of respondents) Strongly disapprove of the way DJT handled his job when he was president (6% support, from 11% of respondents) Strongly or somewhat approve of the way Joe Biden is handling his job as president (12% support, from 10% of respondents) Biden won in 2020 (42% support, from 28% of respondents) Self-considered not a MAGA supporter (64% support, from 51% of respondents) The Republican party is too conservative (40% support, from 18% of respondents) Not important that the next Ohio senator shows support for DJT (28% support, from 26% of respondents) Live in urban area (72% support, from 21% of respondents) Cleveland area (77% support, from 14% of respondents) Columbus area (60% support, from 16% of respondents) Interestingly, females show slightly stronger support for DJT than males do (81% vs. 78%). For me, the most positive takeaways are: 12% of respondents feel the economy is excellent or good, and 12% only 17% of them support DJT vs. Haley 14% of respondents feel their family is getting ahead financially, and only 55% of them support DJT 15% of respondents are angry about the Roe v. Wade reversal, and only 51% of them support DJT 22% of respondents feel that undocumented immigrants should be offered a chance to apply for legal status, and only 56% of them support DJT 26% of respondents think DJT is fit to be president if convicted of a crime, and only 34% of them support DJT 28% of respondents believe Biden won in 2020, and only 42% of them support DJT 18% of respondents believe the Republican party is too conservative, and only 40% of them support DJT The most disturbing takeaways are: 18% of respondents would be dissatisfied if the Abominable Showman wins nomination, but 4% of them still support DJT 14% of respondents feel DJT’s 2nd term would be worse than his first, but 3% of them still support DJT 11% of respondents strongly disapprove of the way DJT handled his job when he was president, but 6% of them still support DJT I am interested in seeing your comments.
