Paul Manafort returning to the RNC, bringing the Trump-Russia band back togther [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-03-18 Same-old, same-old, complete with ostrich jackets and former GRU business associates. The band is back together, along with Russian a$$ets. Trump forgets that it was only after he fired Manafort as campaign manager and brought on Steve Bannon, among other things, that he was able to win in 2016. Paul Manafort, a top adviser to Donald J. Trump’s 2016 campaign who was pardoned by the former president at the end of his White House term, is in discussions to return to help with the Republican National Convention, according to two people with direct knowledge of the matter. Mr. Manafort’s potential role at the party’s convention in Milwaukee has not been decided, and the discussions have gone on for several months. His possible involvement was first reported by The Washington Post. [...] In September 2018, Mr. Manafort pleaded guilty to additional charges brought by Mr. Mueller and agreed to cooperate. But as the case proceeded, Mr. Mueller said that Mr. Manafort had not been truthful in his cooperation, breaching that plea deal. Mr. Trump pardoned Mr. Manafort over the federal investigation at the end of his presidency, and the two have kept in periodic touch, according to several people familiar with their relationship. www.nytimes.com/... x Now that Trump is hiring Manafort, it’s time for @POTUS and @ODNIgov to declassify the Senate Intel report on Russian election interference in 2016. Manafort gave polling data to Russian intelligence in exchange for Ukraine. That’s kind of a big deal. — Mueller, She Wrote (@MuellerSheWrote) March 18, 2024 x Paul Manafort made millions consulting pro-Kremlin Viktor Yanukovych. Together with Roger Stone (who's also in Trump's team), he's consulted several other authoritarian leaders and dictators around the world, too. Of course he (and Stone) was pardoned by Trump in 2020. https://t.co/hDLSU7H2OM pic.twitter.com/evqVl3ZjtS — Pekka Kallioniemi (@P_Kallioniemi) March 18, 2024 x ...manager, "Manafort worked with Kilimnik starting in 2016 on narratives that sought to undermine evidence that Russia interfered in the 2016 U.S. election". During the Trump campaign, Manafort shared information secretly with Kilimnik, who then shared it with the Russians.19/21 — Pekka Kallioniemi (@P_Kallioniemi) February 5, 2023 x Because Trump whisperers refuse to call Paul Manafort a money launderer, much less reveal he pled guilty to conspiring with a guy spooks say is a Russian spy, here's a comparison between him and the guy @JamesComer built his impeachment around. pic.twitter.com/EnMeMA8UjW — emptywheel (@emptywheel) March 18, 2024 $2 Billion from MBS, $640 million from White House days. Will Pops hit them up for his bail bond. x All of the money in the world couldn't fill the voids that animates their daily facades. Kushner loves money more than goodness. For Ivanka, no amount of money, or social status, will make up for having Trump as her father. — The Intellectualist (@highbrow_nobrow) March 18, 2024 x Charles Kushner shouldn't have been able to buy Jared admission to Harvard with pretax dollars. Hedge fund managers shouldn't be able to write off their Gatsby parties at their Hamptons mansions by making them nominally "benefits." — Daniel Friedman (@DanFriedman81) December 3, 2023 LOL trumpists whine about Obama & Logan Act after Previous Guy entertained Orban The Logan Act criminalizes negotiation by unauthorized American citizens with foreign governments having a dispute with the United States. 1.
