Sunday Morning Open Thread With Some Irish Folk Music [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-03-17 Good morning, crew. Just as I was finally getting around to composing this diary, with around 24 hours before it’s supposed to be published, I ran into a computer malfunction. Every time I opened a new window or hit the Quote button over at Twitter a string of dashes opened. The only way I could get them to stop was by closing the window. I thought it was because I got some crud under the dash button on this keyboard. I dug out an old keyboard and replace this one with it. The same thing happened. It took me a few minutes to figure out the problem. See, I’m using an old laptop with a broken screen and a mouse and keyboard. I’m essentially using it like a tower. And I have a load of papers on top of the laptop’s keyboard. (I really have to do my taxes soon.) Those papers were getting pinched down and pressing on the laptop’s keyboard. That’s where the dashes were coming from. The moral of this story is, and I’m the first to need this reminder, don’t put off your diaries until the last minute, especially if you only have one functioning computer. Of course, I don’t know how easy it is to draft a Kos diary on your phone. I’ve never tried it but I don’t think it’s as easy as having a monitor. Anyway, may the luck of the Irish be with you all.
