Kitchen Table Kibitzing 3/16/24 [1]

One thing we considered when looking for a house in the Santa Cruz Mtns was hwy 17. Between Los Gatos and Scotts Valley there are only a two spots that have an over or under pass. There is also beach traffic to consider and rain. When it rains ...heck… just clouds are enough to cause people to drive into the guardrails. This winter was insane… multiple crashes daily.

Luckily we found a spot, thanks to a long straight away, that allows us to easily come and go from either direction. But some don’t seem to understand what a blinking blinker means ...or that some use those left turn lanes painted on the road by the state…

It is true, the left lane on hwy 17 is the fast or passing lane but... Some of us need to exit left to get to our houses. Often with short turn lanes on downhill grades. To the asshole in the big truck (and likely sporting a small dick) that was riding my wife's ass and flashing his lights friday night at around 6:30pm, despite the fact that she had her turn signal on... fuck off. Pull that shit on me in my 23 y.o. truck and you'll be eating my bumper. Since I already have an extra work truck sitting in the driveway, ready to go, I'll be using your insurance money to throw a big ass party to celebrate what a dick you are.

Anyway… Yesterday I was out front and a big ass golden eagle catching the draft flew just a few feet over my head before floating up and over the redwood trees. Then just a half hour later a red-tailed hawk caught the same draft. So damn cool.

The flowers are popping…

...and the busy bees are busy…
