She’s been hit hard by weather events. First, a mid–January cold snap froze the indoor plumbing, despite taking the usual precautions. This caused, and is still causing, massive leaking, resulting in huge, ongoing, water bills. Then, the earthquakes came on 02/02, 02/03, and 02/04, broke a line under the house, so all that excess water drains under the house, through the yard, and out to the street. And, something broke re the hot water heater—no hot water since the earthquakes. But wait, there’s more, some of which is mentioned in the linked GFM. Also, a two week stint of taking care of two very problematic dogs has morphed into 6 months, so she’s now having to buy 4x the dog food, and goes without food for herself.
