SCOTUS: Aides and Abets Treasonous U.S. Citizen [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-03-06 They should all be brought up on charges at this point. There is an ongoing insurrection happening in this country orchestrated by Trump’s Maga handlers. Trump by himself is incapable of these attempted constitutional revocations, but those around him have seized upon this moment, Trump himself, and his followers to engage in an ongoing effort to eliminate American Democracy. Just because their attempt to thwart the certification of the 2020 presidential election proved unsuccessful, it doesn’t mean they have learned their lesson and stopped. They went right back to the drawing board and are trying to eliminate any and all obstacles from their objective of installing Trump as dictator in chief. Guys like Steve Bannon, Sean Hannity, and organizations such as Fox News have been working overtime promoting all the fear they can muster to motivate the Maga base so that they are ready for what they see is coming, another insurrection attempt. They have a plan to eliminate all the bureaucrats they can and install Maga faithful, so that next time they need a friend in low places they will be there for the “New Country”, because the old country has got to go. Democracy has run its course according to these treasonous actors. But nothing has discouraged me more of late than the actions of the Supreme Court, which has lost all credibility with any reasoned legal actors in our country and beyond. Worst of all is their decisions and other actions are directly aiding and abetting Trump and his ongoing insurrection. They need an immunity clause because of the willful damage they are doing to our country. I have been watching the court closely ever since Clarence Thomas was wrongly appointed to the court, and I can say that I have watched the make horrible decisions, not provided for by the constitution more and more since that time. This wasn’t entirely due to Thomas joining the court, but it has gotten worse since then. Citizens United, the dismantling of the voting rights act, overturning Roe V Wade, and I’ll never forget SCOTUS choosing Bush over Gore for president in 2000. What is happening now is even worse because now the constitution itself is on the chopping block. This is the document the court is supposed to interpret and protect, not become instrumental in its elimination. The last two decisions concerning Trump not only were highly contentious for their legal rationale, but more so because SCOTUS went out of its way to carve out exceptions for the Insurrection leader: Donald J. Trump. Elimination from the ballot: the states have every right to maintain their own elections, the constitution provides for this and SCOTUS has upheld this principle almost always until now. Now by their decision, section three of the fourteenth amendment is null and void. Insurrectionist are free to attempt an overthrow until they get it right. No one can take this right away from them. The Supreme Court has decided. They have given Trump and anyone else a free ticket to overthrow this country’s government in as much as he must remain on the ballot, until we no longer are allowed to have free and fair elections once the despot has succeeded in taking control. The second decision was to entertain another look into weather a president can commit crimes without any consequences what-so-ever is another clear example of aiding and abetting an insurrectionist. I don’t know what to say about such cold and calculated act of jurisprudence that seeks explicitly to delay and eliminate justice on behalf of a criminal run amuck. Even knowing that they would probably do this for Trump beforehand, it still breaks my heart and it hurts tremendously to see how anti-justice this court truly has become when it is one of their friends, I’m not going through all the reasons why this was such a horrible and obvious circumvention of justice, you can read about that elsewhere if you’re not sure why, but this was selling our democracy down the river in a way that can rarely be achieved by any one judicial body. Again, if it wasn’t a sound legal decision, then It was also aiding and abetting the Insurrectionist Donald Trump. Not in some abstract way, but in a way that was direct and exclusive to him. Our court is done! They have no legitimacy except as saboteurs to the constitution and our American way of life. One thing we have learned at this point is that checks and balances are a fairy tale in this country. They don’t work. We need to reform the checks balances starting with SCOTUS. Bear with me here, but somehow the current court should be eliminated and a new court should be elected by the people as should all courts in the future. Terms of ten years or less should be implemented. Can this be achieved through congressional action? I don’t know, but even if we must amend the constitution to fix this conundrum, then we need to get started I read some encouraging stuff about a judicial group that is starting a serious dialogue about SCOTUS reform, and they are concerned about the same things too. The sad reality is that we can’t even hope this court gets anything right in the future, they are done as a fair and reasoned judicial body. They have been radicalized and emboldened by the constitutional limits to stop them and their legislating freely from the bench. Worst of all they are aiding and abetting an insurrection, and without any equivocations, The Roberts’ Court shares responsibility for whatever happens next with Trump’s ongoing insurrection. They are now culpable too.
