Justice denied [1] ['This Content Is Not Subject To Review Daily Kos Staff Prior To Publication.'] Date: 2024-03-02 The Supreme Court’s decision to review the Presidential immunity case delays any Federal cases against former President Trump until at least this summer. This delay means that the decisions of the juries will likely not be known to voters before they vote in November. The impact is that American voters are being denied critical knowledge that they need in order to make an informed choice! SCOTUS is telling us that the immunity decision is complicated and needs careful study. After all, SCOTUS cannot make an error. I’m sorry, this is just another steaming load of Bovine Scatology from the Arrogant Nine. They believe that they are the fount of all legal knowledge and want to leave a legacy that will be revered through the generations. In the meantime Rome is burning. Two reasons why SCOTUS is so wrong: If Trump gets elected in November, our democracy is done. There will be no legacy of law because we’ll be ruled by dictator. There is no point in SCOTUS trying to be perfect. Of course, no human can ever be perfect. But SCOTUS is off the charts bad. For example, Rowe v. Wade: The 1973 decision said one thing and the 2022 decision declared the opposite. One of them was dead wrong. So much for SCOTUS infallibility. Why are they even feigning a drive for perfection?? Striving for perfection is good…until the enemy is over the wall. At that point, Plan B, in retrospect, looks pretty good. SCOTUS knows this. They never had any intention of allowing this case to go to trial in time for the November election. They knew it, and now you know it! There is no excuse for this delay. This is a no-brainer decision for SCOTUS. They should have simply let the appeals court decision stand. After all, what was all that kerfuffle in 1776 about? We have a president in the USA, not a king. The appeals court did all their work for SCOTUS. They could have refused to review it and be done. SCOTUS will provide no added value to the appeals court decision. We know how SCOTUS will rule. They will, of course, decide that the president is not immune. But the decision will come too late to allow justice to prevail. This is a dereliction of duty on the part of SCOTUS. If their intent was to avoid further damage to their reputation, they have failed. SCOTUS is a train wreck and cannot be resurrected. There is nothing outsiders can do about that in 2024. In the meantime, can I offer a radical solution? This is addressed to the Justices themselves; well, three of them. Alito is too dumb to understand the tragedy he has unwittingly created. Thomas only cares about the money. Roberts, Kavanaugh, Gorsuch, and Barrett are Trump’s arrogant idiots. Sotomayor, Kagen, and Jackson are all that remain. The Three Musketeers. Is there something they could do? Whatever they might have done within the institution is long dead. No, whatever they might be able to do has to occur outside SCOTUS. They need to public. The Three Musketeers need to reveal the sham that is the Supreme Court today. They will hesitate because of tradition and because they want to be good team players. Well, this court has shown that precedent and tradition are to be trampled upon. Team players don’t allow the team to crash and burn. Even when most of the players are bums, they feel duty-bound to throw out the bums out. The Three Musketeers need to OUT the conservatives and save the hulk of SCOTUS that remains. They need to declare openly that delay was SCOTUS’s agenda from the beginning. That’s what Ginsburg would have done. It may be the only way to save the team – and the country.
