She’s been hit hard by weather events. First, a mid–January cold snap froze the indoor plumbing, despite taking the usual precautions. This caused, and is still causing, massive leaking, resulting in huge, ongoing, water bills. Then, the earthquakes came on 02/02, 02/03, and 02/04, broke a line under the house, so all that excess water drains under the house, through the yard, and out to the street. And, something broke re the hot water heater—no hot water since the earthquakes. But wait, there’s more, some of which is mentioned in the linked GFM. Also, a two week stint of taking care of two very problematic dogs has morphed into 6 months, so she’s now having to buy 4x the dog food, and goes without food for herself. TulsaGal ran through her savings caring for her mother, years ago, and is now living on SS. Many of us know how difficult that is. Update: Tulsa Gal was able to get estimates for the interior plumbing and work was to start last week on Tuesday. Here’s hoping that she has a working hot water heater by now. Three companies are lined up to give detailed estimates for the major sewer repairs, when the weather cooperates.
