Could "Mystery Threat" Help Ds and Hurt Rs? [1]

Sooooo, I have not heard a whole lot about this yet and am still trying to piece together the little bit that I can find but basically, Mike Turner, the Chair of the House Intel Committee, has just today warned of a “serious national security threat.”

The White House National Security Advisor is going to brief the Gang of Eight tomorrow (I believe). Since the Senate is out this week, only the 4 House “gang members” will receive this briefing for now.

The only “leaks” that have come out about this threat (as of the writing of this diary) indicate that it has to do with Russian military capabilities. And the newest leak is that it somehow involves “space.”

Turner has asked Biden to declassify the info so it can be shared more widely.

WASHINGTON — House Intelligence Committee Chairman Mike Turner, R-Ohio, released an unusual statement Wednesday warning of a "serious national security threat" without providing additional details, pre-empting what the White House said was a planned briefing for congressional leaders.



Four sources with knowledge of the issue told NBC News that the threat is a Russian military capability. President Joe Biden has been tracking the national security threat and directed White House national security adviser Jake Sullivan to engage congressional leaders, according to two U.S. officials. White House officials conceded the matter is “serious” but there are ways to “contain” the threat without triggering mass panic, these officials said.

So my extremely uneducated on all things military and such brain wonders, could this threat — whatever it is — actually HELP the Dems and could it gut the whole qrazy maga love for Russia and Putin?

I mean — when a REPUBLICAN Chair of the Intel Committee comes out warning about a “serious national security threat against the USA” — and that threat is from Russia, I don’t know but I hope so.

Perhaps it will reawaken America’s clear stance (that we used to have) about the fucking THREAT that Russia is.

I am not trying to turn a security threat into a political issue, but perhaps this could help the other side remember what a threat Russia is to us and let go of treating Russia like they are our friend.

Greater minds than I will surely have some insight about all this.
