Trump Despises Freedom (anywhere) [1]

It's pretty clear that MAGA has no good feelings for democracy. The Right to abortion has been removed from our Nation as a whole - though it is still protected in Democratic states. LBGTQ rights are diminishing not only at the MAGA state level, but also at the national level with several Federal courts ruling against those rights. We don't even have the freedom to read what we wish to read anymore. The only Right MAGA routinely protects is the Right for the mentally insane among us to openly carry loaded weapons in public spaces. That doesn't seem to foster freedom to me.

But this latest push against foreign democracies is a relatively new thing. When Trump urges Russia to openly attack Europe, that deserves notice. When Trump urges MAGA Republicans in the Senate to not pass foreign aid for Ukraine, that deserves notice. When Trump forbids the MAGA controlled House from even considering such aid, that deserves notice. It also deserves a response from the voters this November.

Senate Republicans joined Senate Democrats and passed foreign aid for Ukraine, Israel, and Taiwan early this morning - with Ukraine getting the lions share of that aid. The vote was 70 to 29 and only the MAGA republicans voted against the aid. It now goes to the House where the MAGA speaker has repeatedly said the House would not even consider that aid. But, the speaker and House are planning to try to impeach DHS secretary Mayorkas again today. I guess in an effort to show just how stupid they actually are.

Look folks. We have a country in Ukraine that is ready, willing, and capable of smashing Putin in the nose. We, along with Europe, share in funding that smashing. We, along with Europe, stand for the freedoms of people across the world. Freedom in Ukraine means freedom across the world. It means a Russian dictator is stopped in his tracks. It means his military is decimated in the process. And all it costs us is a few bucks. Seems like a sweet deal to me.
