My Feedback to the White House [1]

My little tale of civic engagement: I went to whitehouse.gov and under the Contact Me link I sent this to President Biden:

Two items:

One - The President should IMMEDIATELY either deploy federal troops, or federalize the Texas National Guard, and keep Gov. Abbott's minions away from the border. The Supreme Court has ruled (shamefully only 5-4: how could it be anything other than 9-0?). There's precedent for this: Arkansas 1955, in the wake of Brown v. Board of Education. Texas' actions are exactly as contemptuous of the ruling as Arkansas' were, and deserve the same prompt forceful response.

Two- Israel's behavior vis a vis Gaza is abominable. I'm not excusing Hamas' behavior at all, however it is possible to be condemn both Hamas AND Israel. Since they're using a lot of US weaponry to brutalize the civilian population of Gaza, the US has standing to tell them to knock it off. We've turned a blind eye to Israel's treatment of Palestinians generally - "settlements", etc. - for generations, and it's small wonder that it exploded as it has.

US reactions to both needs to be forceful, sustained, and blanket all media. It's necessary not only to do things, but to be seen doing them. A one-time press release or a handful of WH pressroom statements won't do the job.
